FRANKFORT, KY – November 1, 2004 – The Kentucky Board of Dentistry recently launched a new service that allows dental hygienists to renew their licenses online. The service can be accessed through the state's official Web portal at http://kentucky.gov or directly at www.dentistry.ky.gov.
The online license renewal program is the fastest and easiest way for hygienists to renew their licenses. The license renewal period is now underway and runs through December 31.
"We're offering this new service as a convenience to our licensees," said Gary Munsie, executive director of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry. "In addition, we also have a new Web site that will be a valuable resource for dentists, hygienists, and the public at large."
In order to complete a renewal, licensees are asked to verify and update their unique licensure information, answer a few questions, and pay the fee in easy-to-follow steps. Visa and MasterCard payments are accepted online, and new certificates are mailed to licensees once their renewal applications are processed.
"Our licensees are accustomed to being able to do business online," said Munsie. "Our Board believes in being proactive and keeping up with the changing times. Online renewal was an obvious next step for us."
Online license renewal will also be available for dentists for the 2005 renewal cycle.
The license renewal program was built by the Board in partnership with Kentucky.gov. The Board's redesigned Web site launched in September.
