OKLAHOMA CITY – May 9, 2008 – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Control (OBNDD) launched a new service that will enable over 14,000 OBNDD registrants to renew or apply for new registrations online. Five thousand registrants are due for renewal this year. Such registrations include: practitioners, animal euthanasia technicians, dog handlers, pharmacies, hospice/home health, clinical detoxification, and pharmaceutical distributors. Registrants can access the online service at http://www.ok.gov.

“The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics is committed to streamlining our processes and making the registration cycle efficient and fiscally responsible. We will eliminate cumbersome paper handling issues that plague all of government. The Bureau works tirelessly with our medical community and registrants to make a safer Oklahoma. The registration process enables registrants to pay online with Visa, MasterCard and electronic check payments utilizing OK.gov’s secure payment engine. Upon completing the renewal process, registrants can print their certificates, thus reducing mailing and printing costs for OBNDD. OBNDD estimates $3,500 in cost savings for the first year as a result of the online registration renewal.

The online service is a product of a partnership between OBNDD and OK.gov, Oklahoma’s Official Web site managed by the eGovernment firm, NIC Inc. (NASDAQ: EGOV).
