Online Voting for Nebraska Spirit Art Contest Now open at http://www.nebraska.gov

Public To Determine Which Grade School Students’ Artwork Will Be FREE Downloadable Screen Saver

LINCOLN, Neb., - May 13, 2008 – Nebraskans across the state have the chance to determine the winners in the 2008 Nebraska Spirit Art Contest by voting online at http://www.nebraska.gov from May 12-23. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade submitted original artwork showcasing Nebraska. One winner from each grade will have their work featured on a free downloadable screen saver for one year.

The contest is sponsored by Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale and http://www.Nebraska.gov, the state’s official Web portal.

“Inspiring state pride and a deep respect for our state’s history in our students has been a top priority for me as secretary of state,” said Gale. “The Nebraska Spirit Art Contest helps us greatly in this effort.”

The online voting at http://www.nebraska.gov/contest involves five finalists from each grade.
