TOPEKA, Kan., – January 5, 2009 – The state of Kansas launched the redesign of the Kansas Business Center (http://www.kansas.gov/businesscenter), the official state resource for information, filings, and personal assistance to start or maintain a Kansas business. The Kansas Business Center is a statewide initiative involving 11 state agencies and associations.
“We have worked hard to make Kansas the right place to start a business or to expand, and we’re nationally recognized as a business-friendly state,” said Governor Kathleen Sebelius. “We’ve cut millions of dollars in taxes and invested in workforce development and public education to help Kansas businesses. For those considering starting a business, the Kansas Business Center is a one-stop-shop for the information and resources they need.”
Once businesses are up and running, the Kansas Business Center will provide them with resources to help monitor annual requirements that ensure their business has the opportunity to thrive.
Many regulatory filings are available for online submission and payment through the Secretary of State, Department of Revenue, and more. Regional offices of the Kansas Small Business Development Centers (http://www.ksbdc.org) and the Center for Entreprenuerialship’s NetWork Kansas (http://www.networkkansas.com) participated in the development of this project.
Another highlight of the new Kansas Business Center is a team of NetWork Kansas Referral Coordinators. They are available to provide the necessary resource referrals & business counseling through the business startup, growth and maintaining process through online chat or by phone.
